Urgent Foot and Ankle Care Now Offered at Foot & Ankle Specialists Of Iowa

To better serve Marion and the Cedar Rapids metro area, Foot & Ankle Specialists Of Iowa is making doctors available for urgent foot and ankle care.

We provide immediate walk-in treatment for most emergency foot and ankle conditions. Our doctors have over 55 years of combined experience specializing in foot and ankle care and can provide on-site evaluations, x-rays and treatment, including immediate care for foot conditions such as:

Broken bones and sprains - Bones in the foot and ankle can break or ligaments in the foot can tear. Our on-site x-rays can help diagnose fractures. It is a misconception that nothing can be done for toe fractures. Permanent damage can be avoided through proper treatment.

Ingrown toenails - Ingrown nails can cause severe pain, redness, swelling and drainage around the nail. Antibiotics along can only provide temporary relief. Our doctors can address the cause of the ingrown nail to permanently treat it and prevent recurrence.

Foot infections - Foot infections can happen when bacteria or fungus get into cuts, skin cracks, and wounds. If left untreated such infections can spread into the blood stream, particularly in patients with diabetes, poor circulation or other health conditions.

Gout and acute pain - Swelling can be evaluated and addressed to provide relief as quickly as possible.

Cuts and wounds - Feet are susceptible to cuts from stepping on glass or from wearing open-toes shoes. Our doctors can inspect the wound to ensure nothing is left in the foot, and then clean and close the wound properly through bandaging, stitches, and antibiotics when necessary.

Heel and arch pain - Acute or chronic pain under the heel or arch can be debilitating. We can evaluate the injury, take x-rays, and treat the pain with proper support, exercises, and medication to make standing and walking more comfortable.

Foot & Ankle Specialists Of Iowa welcomes patients with urgent needs as well as non-emergent or preventative needs. Experienced doctors are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 1215 Blairs Ferry Road in Marion.
